Gioia in Dusseldorf

It was a year and a half ago, but I have to get rid of it. Ambience inside was very nice, they were well designed. Not outside. (a bit neglected and due to the busy Ludenbergerstr.) We, 5 adults, 3 children, took a seat outside in late summer. Only one more table for two was occupied. A few tables were still occupied in the restaurant. Overall, we saw two service staff present. Unfortunately the waitress didn't have such a good day, you can have it, but the constant waiting to get another round of beer? We had to let them know almost every time ... Food was ok, pizza better than pasta. Unfortunately there was no ice cream for the children in "summer" ??! Too bad. Not exactly child-friendly. At the time of billing there was an additional main course booked, can happen, but no excuse ...?! We tried it, but won't be back. As newcomers, we have now discovered friendlier alternatives ...

I was served a leg of goose I ordered. And ENJOYMENT is exactly the right word, because this buttery leg, red cabbage / apple / chestnuts / dumplings and the non-greasy, dripping sauce were definitely the best goose food 'ever'. Thanks a lot for this!!!!

Friendly, courteous service, extensive menu and wonderful Italian cuisine apart from pizza and pasta. We sat outside on the terrace, which is shielded and heated, an advantage these days that should not be underestimated.

I was here for the first time today. A very cozy restaurant (despite the necessary corona partitions). The food was very tasty. The service was very attentive. It was a very nice time all round. Thank you 😊

In a nutshell: food 😋 delicious, service nice and prudent, wine top price performance, corona protection measures are well implemented. Gloves and mask available for serving, disinfection and attendance lists. Spit protection to the next table available. We would like to come again.

Online ordering is not recommended! Unfortunately, the Gioia lost me as a guest. I ordered online on my own website and also received a confirmation. But after the food didn't come, I tried to call the restaurant about 15 times and no one answered. Then I made my way to the restaurant. There I was only told that I would see what was going on and because of that they do not make online orders (despite confirmation) and he no longer answers the phone. The way was just impossible. Well ... not again. Update on the answer: Your statement regarding my expected delivery time / pick-up time is well and good, but ultimately it does not change the fact that when I arrived at the restaurant at 8:30 p.m., the order was not even opened. As described in their answer, they made a conscious decision against it in order to concentrate on the guests on site and that is not a way for me. Because, in my understanding of service, I am a paying guest and not a supplicant when ordering at home. If this understanding is missing, or if you cannot or do not want to comply with the matter, you should simply not offer a pick-up / delivery service. Everything else is just frustration. So I stick to it: Online ordering is not recommended!

I'm glad that I live around the corner 🙂 Everything is just right here and something for every taste, whether pizza (the chef is from Napoli) or more sophisticated dishes, everything is delicious. Plus a good selection of wines, a beautiful terrace and friendly, professional service 👍

We went there to eat pizza and had a nice seat on the outside terrace. We were served friendly and brisk. We found the limoncello spritz very tasty, absolutely recommendable. What we noticed particularly positively: I chose a pizza that usually has ham on it. Since I don't eat meat, I bar the pizza without getting the ham. Something was even deducted from the bill for the missing ham. That is absolutely rare and super fair! We would love to come back.

Very professional service / cook. Professional: class, etiquette, friendly, clean and tasty. Unfortunately nowadays only max. 5 percent of all restaurants really have that well-trained staff.

Very nice and cozy restaurant. The interior has an interesting ambience, the pizza is plentiful and high-quality topped with fresh ingredients, some of which are originally from Italy. The pizza base is crispy and very tasty with the topping. The antipasti is delicious with everything you could wish for. We will definitely come back and try the other dishes! Keep it up!

The food was really amazing. The menu is not big which is great and has a good variety of options. The service is incredibly slow. We waited forever to get drinks and when we arrived it was not busy at all. We had a small issue with the bill at the end and the situation was handled very badly by management. And because of service and the managers bad attitude I will not go back.
